Wheel Question

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what the largest wheel i can put on a Octavia vRS without having to upgrade my brakes?

I dont see why you would need to upgrade your brakes regardless of what wheel size you went for.

But 19" wheels fit the vRS I believe. 18's do for sure no hassles.

I think you're talking 225/45/17 or 225/40/18 or 225/35/19. Don't know if the 19's will clear the wheel arches when on full lock.

Some people have had very nice alloys on their octys so they will hopefully come along and comment from experience :)

if tyres are the same width and outside diameter of course they will so long as the offset is the same or suitable

I've got a set of RS6 18" and they went on fine with 225/40/18. No rubbing whatsoever.

I wouldn't recommend lowering it tho if you have it fully laden from time to time as when I had a couple of suitcases and wife+2kids in mine the arches were about 1" away from the tyres  (and no, the wife aint a FAT heffer :D ).

19's will fit but you may get a little rubbing on full lock even with elastic bands for tyres!

20's would look gr8...but I fear you will have problems when you come to a corner :D

18'' with 225/40/18 fit fine....you will get rubbing on full lock if you lower the car too much though.

No need to change brakes although you must ensure you have the correct offset for the wheels....can never remember if this is the ET value...if so 35 or 38 should be ok.

If you a changing to something like Brembos then you may need a spacer to allow wheel clearance.
