'08 Skoda Octavia not starting

Featured Replies

Hi

I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on what is wrong with my Dad's Octavia. It is an '08 Octavia 1.9TDI

It has been giving trouble this last week or so, it would start up and run fine no problems, but turn it off and it would not start for maybe 5 or 10 mins, sometimes less time but not straight away after.

Now the car wont start at all, the battery has been checked and is fine. If you turn the key fully it just sounds like one click of an indicator. I have heard there is a switch in the dash that can go in these cars. Is that true of would anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong with it?

Cheers

Is'nt it worth a call to Skoda Assist??

Well it will be going to the garage because its not starting. I'm just curious at to what it could be and if its a common fault.

You would need it checked with VCDS first. Is their derv getting to the injectors? Is the pump working? What's the voltage on the battery during cracking?

Brought to the mechanic today who figured out the problem. It was a relay that was gone and needs replacing. He switched for another identical relay that was in the car which started the car no problem so just need to fit a new relay now as far as I know.
