Has anyone had a remap done on a VRS TDI PD. I was wondering if there are any pitfalls to be aware of before I commit myself to buying one. I had a Astra some time ago and had a remap the thing flew but I started having problems with the clutch.

Is there anything like this happening to any remapped VRS TDis?

I had my old PD vRS remapped by P-Torque. Really improved the car and the clutch had no issues. However, ended up with a DPF failure that thankfully, was replaced under warranty. I'm not sure if the remap contributed to this at all? Any decent mapper will offer a DPF removal and remap which should give you even more performance with less of the headaches. A few on here have done it and I'm sure will be along to advise accordingly.

I had mine done by Shark , no problems in the 5k miles since i had it done . a good Stg1 map should not overly stress the clutch . give Ben a ring at shark and get advice from a Pro .

lots of people blame a map for clutch damage. Its more often the driver. Using wide open throttle at low revs in a high gear destroys clutches, and this is something most people do when remapped as the car is so much more powerful. YOur clutch will last longer if you use the gears correctly and change down when you want to accelerate
