engine cleaning

Featured Replies

hi everyone just need some help pls..i need some videos or guides on proper engine bay cleaning..thanks in advance..

Engine de-greaser, rags, beer, sunday afternoon, hot weather, common sense.

Or you could use a steam cleaner, just be careful around electrics.

I just use some inteior cleaner, works well in engine bays for some reason, leave it to soak in for abit then blast it with pressure washer

If you use a Pressure Washer, you need to protect Electrical Items, such as the Starter,ECU,and Alternator.I would wrap some rag around these items, and not direct the jet directly at them.I would also do it on a hot sunny day ,leave the car as long as possible before starting up.

I think you might wash off the lubrication on the gear change cables etc.

Yeah, me too.

Are they done with Laminex, or is it fly-eyes?

Cheers :)

I'll pop a picture up when I get home, no problems with the MOT

It is Fly eyes kit, tried to use Lamin X on my new car but is more harder to apply and Fly Eyes is cheaper

I use...

Unipart traffic film remove, almost neat with an old paint brush.

Wash off with a open ended hose and see where the water wont sit and rework those areas

Spray on Tardis

Wash off

Then dress the engine.
