How to get the roof bars off?

Featured Replies

AS the title says, how can i remove them?.

I am getting the roof painted black (eventually when SWMBO allows) but i cant get a quote as nobody knows how to remove the rails!.

Now im guessing the black parts on the ends (i have the alloy bars) just pops off with a panel popper and then i just unscrew the bolts on the roof............. or is it one of those remove the roof linings and go insane trying to put it back again jobs! :giggle:

Ok and lastly, can anybody photoshop these 3 images (or just one!) to have white instead of black on the bumpers and lower sills....... plus black roof... plus leave the silver trims on the bumpers silver as it looks cool ;)

IS this thread broken?.

Its saying 0 views and its been a few hours....

If they are like the Superb 2 ones (I think they are) the headlining has to come down and they are bolted upwards through the roof.

So i wasnt imagining things, i must of read that thread before!.

Now im a little worried that the little buggers might not clip back on, i had a bad expeirence with the mirror covers the other day.

Ok so can anyone help out with the photoshop, i tried and failed many a times, i even have the latest PS software with all the extras but i just cant get my head around the functions even with the helpful youtube guides :(

Something like this? I think it spoils the unique lines of the Yeti but each to their own.. :|

Makes it look short and fat.

I would NOT paint the roof!!!!!!!! That is what these magic car wrapping films are about! You just have it wrapped and the next owner can peal it off with ease should they want to - or you if you change your mind. Come on you've wrapped your dash in silver 3M yourself so you should know this is the ONLY way to add colour to a car these days! :giggle:

And I think the full body colour bottom and black roof accentuates the lovely B-pillar shark fin! So  . Looks good.

Also see this thread for where the connections of the bars might be:

There are some close up pics of the helipad fixings.

Yeah i wanted to wrap it, but for some reason wrapping is considered high end in taiwan...... its something people do to their ferraris etc.

Its half the price to get it painted, backwards country right!?.

Still i dont mind painting it because Skoda are now doing this from the factory.

I think the bumpers painted white and the roof painted black looks cool, remember its still got the roof bars in silver and also the silver bits on the front and rear bumpers.

Im also leaving the black bumper strip on the sides.
