door card removal

Featured Replies

Could someone tell me how do i remove the front door cards please?

I've removed the door handle cover (not the one for unlocking), removed the 2 torx screws at the bottom of the door, but the top of the door card is not coming off. I'm just worried in case i break something.

If there isn't a screw behind the mirror switch that's it, just held on with clips.

The clips are holding it - it is scary but you have to pull it out and the sound might be like plastics breaking but you will be fine.

aren't you supposed to pull it out at the bottom and the push it upwards, like the octy 1 and golf 5, passat -04 etc..??

Yip from below out and then up.

earlier there was a guide to door card removal with speaker placement complete with line diagrams but now it seems to vanish in thin air .......if anybody can give the link it will be a great help

Many thanks for all the help and replies.

i have manual mirrors and electric windows. i'm not sure if these are stuck on the door card or the door frame.

I tried pulling the bottom of the door card away first, then tried to lift the whole door card up but it's stuck or am I not lifting hard enough. It seems to be really stuck on. It feels like it's going to break something and the door card bends if i pull it any harder.

I've also notice 2 screws (or silver round things) inside the main door handle. Are these meant to come off.

1)Remove 2 torx screws at the bottom of the door card

2) remove the main interior handle cover ( large sideways U shape piece and it will reveal 2 larger torx bolts, remove these.

3.  Starting from the bottom, pry the door card away releasing the clips that run up either side ( can be stiff , but be persistent).

4. Once clips are free from the door, lift in an  upwards direction and away to complete.

removal .

Make note that the window switch is still connected on a short cable. so be careful not to yank it around too much until you have disconnected the switch.

Tip: place the upper larger torx bolt from the handle in the hole first and line up with the door when reinstalling otherwise it's a ballache because it's deep inside the handle.

Hi j grindel my name's Daniel kendrick I have a 1.4 vrs fabia I'm going to replace my wing mirror but obviously need to take the door panel in this diagram items 6-7 are the Torx screws I need to order the tools what size are they please ??

Just pop to your local Halfords or motor factors and buy a set like this "assuming" you have a screw driver to accept 1/4/" drive magnetic bits. All sizes you will need for most things including door trims etc are in this,

If you have no screw driver, then this will do as well....
