FL VRS Cooling Fan's

Featured Replies

Hello Seen this post and it took my attention becuase the issue with the Fans staying onafter turning the ignition off is occuring to me. However i have a 1.6 fuel injected octavia.

Also the tempreture sensor is constant staying at zero no matter how far i have driven. Has anybody else experienced anthing like this??

any help / assistance would be much appreciated

Perfectly normal, will do this if you return to idle after cruising along. During a cruise the conditions are stable enough for the cars computer to demand an increase in exhaust gas temp. This will turn the soot in the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) into ash, which will pass out the back of the car. If the process is stoped half way by way of returning to idle, there is a danger of deforming the DPF substrate. This is because as the residual temp in the substrate is high with unburnt soot, being fanned gently at idle you have a ray mears here's how to make a fire. It wouldn't turn into a fire, just highly concentrated temp. Hence the radiator fans at full wack to cool the exhaust canning
