Got Rid

Featured Replies

Well we finally decided to get rid of our Superb Elegance 140 tdi.( Black Magic.)

I’m afraid that since the oil pump failed at 36,000 miles we have lost confidence in the car..

The car will be four years old in September and has 57,000 miles (92,000 kilometres) on the clock so it will soon be due a new cambelt, it is still on its original exhaust so it won’t be long before that needs replacing, two tyres are on their last legs, and the DPF fluid won’t last much longer either, so it’s going to start costing a lot of money soon. Also. because I was worried that as a result of the oil pump failure the engine might have sustained some damage/wear, that has yet to manifest itself. Once the car was out of warranty we took out an extended warranty with WarrantyWise which is costing us about £30 a month

So we bit the bullet and traded it in against a new Nissan Qashqai Teckna 1.5cdi.. We picked up the new car this afternoon.

The Superb has gone. YIPPEE!!!!!

Yes the new car does have a dreaded DPF. But we had no problems with the DPF on the Superb (in spite of the daft place in the exhaust system it is located) so I’m confident that the kind of driving we do will not cause a problem for us on the new car..

The Superb was an ex Demonstrator with 3000 miles on the clock I got a good deal on it paying £15,250

The part exchange allowance against the Qashqai was £6,000.

We buy yourcar.com offered £5,800. for it

I’m sure I could have achieved more had I sold the car privately, but I wanted rid of it PDQ.

Bloody cars keep you poor don’t They?

Any Superb which cannot be run into the ground will be a very poor financial proposition.

The 2.0 PD was a disaster - VAG stole your money.
