[Urgent] Changing FARB Bushes.

Featured Replies

Hello,

In the middle of changing the FARB bushes - I've done the driver side as its pretty straight forward, however I cant access the passenger side top bolt holding the bush to the arb. The drivetrain sleeve thingy is in the way. Is there an easy way to remove the top bolt? Would I need to remove the alu cast thing to drop everything down a few cm?

Edit:

Found it - Thanks

All you need to do is carefully jack the divers side wishbone up from under the ball joint...see in my post B)

Ru referring to driver side or both? I used that method on the driver side but doesn't seem to work on the passenger side as the transmission shift? is in the way. I'll give it another go though :)

Yeh, use a second jack to push the driveshaft up and out of the way - Be uber care you don't push it off the axelstands/jacks.

Tried lifting the passenger side via ball joint and lifted the car up, needed an extra inch and a half lift to actually get access . My "rear engine/transimission pendulum support" has 3 bolts instead of 2 shown in the guide.. I'll try take that out and see what happens..

(Thought this was meant to be straight forward.. Im very sure im doing something not quite right.)

I remember it being a pain when I did mine, I used a spanner for the passenger side and jacked it up as clearance is really bad.

I only had problems with drivers side top bolt.......mind you I have Koni FSD dampers...so full standard "Drop" when wheels are in the air!! If you have coilovers or shortened dampers then you will encounter problems as the "Drop" is reduced!!! B)

Thanks guys, I've solved it now, I'll up the winning picture in a sec lol. Had to take the engine transmission bolts off to shift it around a little :D

However.. IT DIDN'T SOLVE MY CREEK ISSUE, made it worse! :| Handling seems tighter though even at low low speeds
