clutch + turbo help needed

Featured Replies

It was confimed yesterday that my headgasket is on its way at 125k! its starting to pressurise the coolant. :(

So its booked in at the local indy week after next.

Also, over the past six months my clutch has been slipping intermittently.

I've decided to take advantage of it being off the road for a bit, and get as much modding done as necessary before its short trip to shark. im looking at going for a 150 hybrid followed by sharks remap, ben tells me power will be approx 210-220bhp/330lbs-ft

CLUTCH

Although im going for more power, i still want to retain oem drivability and have no smf chatter, but not have to worry too much about what revs and how much throttle to give. Ive spent the last couple of days searching here and other forums but to be honest, made my head spin!,

What are my options? Will a dmf stand up to that power if i just replace dmf and add uprated clutch+pressure plate?

Whats the key differences between carbon kevlar, organic, metal-ceramic? (or whatever its called lol)and how do these translate to my needs?

I've found these are these reasonably priced? My link & My link albeit one is a smf! any thoughts?

I've been thinking sachs because no one has spoke about helix and dmf combo, is this right? and i've read bad reviews on techniclutch.

So basically i'd like to know what options are out there, how much and where from.

TURBO

In order to utilise my fmic and standard nozzles, whats my options?, how much and where from?

Im not too worried about spending the right money for the right stuff, just cant afford to make a mistake by getting any of it wrong and at the wrong price!

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks andy.

Anybody? site sponsors?

Turbo from the usual suspects, Turbo dynamics, turbo technics etc. Looking at around £1000 for a hybrid 150.

As for clutch few options, uprated clutch with a DMF, gives slightly heavier pedal but overall pretty much standard feel. Does mean that you`ll still have to bare in mind the DMF has its limits itself.

can a dmf really handle 210bhp?

It can and it cant... Dmf's can fail at stock torque

It can run it, but they need to be driven carefully as oppose to being able to floor it at 2000rpm. Mine didn't last long running that tbh but it had done 150,000 miles.
