Gettingthe Power Down

Featured Replies

Being a gentle footed driver I never thought I’d have a problem getting the tyres to grip. The turn on to the main road from my side street is more of a T than a Y (sharp 90 degree rather than having an angled feed in) and even on dry roads as I turn left the front wheels will spin up

I only need to breathe on the throttle and the car is off. 170PS DSG – Anyone else enjoying such performance ?

Tyres pressures are correct & the wheels are bolted to the car

Yep, the 170 engine is a good'n!

Personally, I've never felt a wheel spinn under "normal" wet of dry conditions. - Altho, this could have something to do with the 4x4 system!

It's a great power plant all right, try the manual option, just until you get out of your road :)

BTW, I've no idea if it will help :giggle:

The 170 is a gem of an engine, i've got it in my current Octavia VRS and have just ordered a new Superb with the same engine (although a CR instead of a PD)

Wanted 4x4 too but didn't want to lose the extra 30 horses that bring a smile to my face every time I need the power :giggle:

Have you gone for the DSG in the Superb? - as the 4x4 is 140 DSG and 170 Manual (like mine!) ;)

DSG this time, do a lot of city driving and the 'ol legs are getting tired of pumping clutch all day!

Pity, if they did a DSG 4x4 in the 170 engine I'd have had it!
