Octavia registration

Featured Replies

Just got a message from the dealer to say my car is being delivered and that I have to get it registered in 7 days as SUK gave instructions. Is this correct as they want to get it done on 30th June.

My dealer did it for me but they did require insurance cover to get the tax disc.

They did it for me and arranged Skoda 7 day free insurance But as yet the car not at the dealers

10 working days I believe, so effectively 2 weeks, you certainly dont want it in before the end of the month, thats them wanting to get the figures up, get it done on the 1st as you wont loose a months tax then. :)

Thanks for the reply, however I dont know when the car will arrive so I am playing it by ear and see what developes.

But be assured that I will expext a very good answer to

all my questions

Mine is due anyday now as well, so we will be in the same club having Octavias registered within a few days of each other :-)

The dealer can tax a car within the last week of a month and you don't lose that month.

So if you stick 12 months tax on it you can get 53 weeks for the price of 52.

Mine was near the end of May so I got 53 weeks road tax so like above you gain instead of loose

I would get it as soon as you can and enjoy it. No benefit in having it registered in a weeks time as opposed to having it registered say tomorrow. As above you gain on an extra weeks tax and a etra week enjoyment in driving your new car.

Cool, I stand corrected on the tax then, didnt realise that, in that case then, hell yeah get it when you can and go for it and enjoy! :-)
