Fabia seat cleaning ?

Featured Replies

Sorry to bring up an old thread guys, but thought i'd use this than start another.

What Wet Vac would people recommend that I use? My seats are in desperate need of a clean.

Edit - Just read the thread properly, and did a bit of research on the Rug Doctor. Looks like i'm heading to my local morrisons in the morning!

sorry to dissapoint u but the rug doctor is a total waste of money

i just use a wet vac and stardrops ,,but only using the foam from the top of the bucket do this twice and the seats r amazing ,then scotchguard (which i never did ,thats why i need to do them again ) :@

I used a rug doctor I spilt a whole bottle of fairy liquid on mine accidently bloody misses I left it for a week to dry and the die was left behind I just ran lots of water from the rug doctor on it and sucked it off it got to a point when I had a pool if water on them I'm panicked but continued to suck it of with the doctor eventually it came up and looks good only thing is say about using them is make sure you get every bit of the seat because if you don't it leaves water marks behind and god this is annoying !

i have a vax wet vac and want to try this, bit scared though lol

what cleaning solution is the one to use then?

i have Megs APC

also do you actually brush the solution in or just use a microfibre to work the solution in?

how much do proper valeters (sp?) charge for this type of thing?

An guy in the trade told me that the best thing to use is simple soap flakes in a small amount of hot water. Mix to make a foam. Apply with a sponge and then clean off with another damp sponge.

Very cheap and very mild so won't cause any damage.

Any decent car interior shampoo (Meguires, Autoglym, whatever) will work, mix as per instructions on it. I tend to spray it on from a bottle, rather than using the Vax to apply. Use warm/hot water in the mix, and agitate (sponge, brush on vax, etc) before sucking it up.

Go for it - don't be afraid ;)
