Remote stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi,

I noticed that time to time my remote doesn't want to work, I changed the battery 3 times and it still function randomly, now all of the sudden it stopped working all together.

I can lock/unlock the doors with the key in the door but when I unlock the doors this way, my alarm goes off if I enter the car. (until I put on the ignition)

I tried to rewrite it and even duplicate it (new key) and my car didn't "see" the key.

Tested with vag-com the radio channel is blank (no signal is received)

So all the "brainiacs" that looked at the problem concluded that its the "comfort module"

Today another "brainiac" opened the module and said that there is no "radio frequency antenna or receiver"

My question is ... how can it be fixed ? and how did it work 3 years with no "radio frequency antenna or receiver" in the comfort module :|

The radio receiver and antenna is simply a short range screened receiver, which doesn't look anything like you would expect it to. Diagnose comfort module with VAGCOM/VCDS, you can list last state and check for error codes.
