Oil Change 1.6glxi

Featured Replies

Its time to give the car a service. I have had it for just over 12 months now & the service indicator has come on, it had a oil & filter change when I bought it. so what oil is most suitable?, called into a car parts shop today they looked up in abook & said a 15-40 ( I think ), but thought i'd check with you lot 1st. I will be changing it all every year ( presuming its on fixed servicing ). Its a 1.6 Glxi engine with 70,000 miles on the clock. I only do about 7,000 miles a year, alot of it is local journeys. so would I best with a oil like Magnatec? ( can get it for

Its not the Doing it thats the problem, Its just confirmation of the right specs. If need be I can get my own hands dirty.

Any good 10w40 oil will be just fine.

Should be a regular 19mm sump bung on it.

I don't have to do it... she'll get dad to do it :D

Magnatec will do the job more than adequately, does your handbook mention oil spec?
