I have today ordered a Sony Ericsson xperia X10 handset and was told it comes with android 1.6 but im sure I heard somewhere it was to get an update to gingerbread 2.2 or some update, Just wondered and wanted to ask if there was any truth in this and if anyone on here has the X10 and if so what software is it running.

I dont even know what the differences are just as long as it makes a phone call that will do me lol. If it does get an updrade for its software how do you install it (sorry if this sounds daft)

Yes you can do, infact my phone keeps asking to upgrade the OS, which I haven't got round to yet ...

Mine came with 1.6 about 6 months ago and 3 months ago it went up to 2.1 (eventually after some issues getting it to load)

2.1 works well, but I am not aware of a 2.2 for this model yet - I've not been prompted for an update anyway.
