TCS light and ABS light appear on dash

Featured Replies

Overnight the Fabia seems to have developed an issue and I don't know if it's just because it got wet or doesn't like gravel... :wonder: it was fine yesterday but I usually park either on tarmac or put it in the garage but I parked it on the gravel overnight and now it has a couple of warning lamps on!

I went out in it this morning and when I got on to the dual carriageway the ABS and TCS light came on. It only seems to trigger the lights once speeds exceed 30-40mph (I haven't watched to see exactly what speed causes the lights to come one but they're definitely not on when I'm doing 30mph). If I turn the ignition off and back on the lights illuminate until I drive off and then they go out. Until my speed exceeds whatever speed it is that causes the lights to re-illuminate. Is it likely to just be an ABS sensor or could something else be causing it?

First things are really to have a fauly code read of the ABS/ASR ECU to see what that throws up...then check all the fueses in the top of the battery and make sure that the battery is at least a 60ah one and in good condition....also if it throws up an "implorsible signal" code then it could be crap on the sensors...so thats a case of get under car and clean the reluctor rings...fronts are easy to get at....rears require the removal of the brake disc and caliper!!! B)

Could it be the same problem as this and this?

Had exactly the same problem and a scan showed it was a fault with the ABS speed sensor, in my case on the passenger side. If you have AA or RAC cover, go out for a drive, pull over and give them a ring, they'll come out and do a scan on it for free if you cant do it yourself.
