After market WARRANTY...what's good?

Featured Replies

My car is just about to go out of factory warranty. My Skoda dealer is getting me information about the Skoda used car warranty but cost might be an issue. I been quoted by Warranty Direct for one year at £290 on their best policy that covers just about everything. But Quentin Wilsons Warranty Wise has come in with a great 2 year deal costing just £178pa. It covers mostly everything that counts but is not their absolute top of the range package. But that's ok, I just want my main parts covered!!

Anyone got any suggestions or comments, criticisms of the firms concerned above? Ta!

Chances are you should be OK on major components, with your car so young and serviced regular, it should be trouble free.

I would suggest go for the one you feel happiest with, or maybe get the most cover for the least amount of layout.?

As the car gets older would be a time to get greater cover perhaps.?

I've just been on the RAC website and I have been looking at there Breakdown warranty, looks Very good for the price and seems to cover a multitude of things including eletrical Items........ESP units " Will they be covered"

Thoughts and comments on this Gentelmen

warrenty direct were one of the best I found when looking at cover, mostly because they included wear and tear items... for examply your turbo blowing at 100k is classed as normal wear and tear, or your gearbox dying at 100k ect, and if that happens warrenty directs best policy will cover it! I'm thinking of them if I keep my vRS past its warrenty, just to cover the DSG :)

Quentin wilsons warrenty company have a really good reputation, I just thought they were too expensive, but sounds like a good price you've been quoted!

dont know anything aboput the RAC one...

Thanks guys...yes, Quentin's lot seem pretty good and covers the wear and tear stuff, but on the package they quoted me, it isn't quite as comprehensive as Warranty Direct's plan. Sharky, good idea to cover the DSG if you keep it...just in case!

I've just re-newed my Skoda Warranty with Full RAC roadside/home jobbie

Service books full of Skoda dealer stamps so they might take kindly to me if I ever need to use it, I also have a good relationship with my local dealer
