Featured Replies

hi all

bought a hid kit for my fabia vrs, having a right nightmare, after fitting them one side went off after 5 mins, put new ballast in and its still not working, anyone else had any problems when fitting a hid kit?

No issues at allhere, have you tried replacing the bulb? Could be faulty bulb

tried both bulbs on the ballast thats working and there fine, got me baffled

have you swapped the side that is working to the other side to check? made sure all connections are connected?

yeah mate, still doesnt work, also what bulbs do you need for the vrs,h7 or h7r?

I had this, sometimes they fail to fire properly as well. Didnt work at all with first ballasts, where did you get them from? Try to get an exchange on them.

I have h7r, although I doubt it makes much difference lol

Fuse?

yeh a fuse could be good to check, also the right bulb would be the h7r for the reflector lens saying that i run just the h7 and no glare issues, depends on quality really, i got mine from carmodshop.com exceptional quality and service

I've never seen so many positive comments about hid's. I'd say fuse...

Sorry for the thread hi-jack.

I've got projector headlights on my Fabia and was thinking of getting a set of HIDs, only the 4000K as I wouldn't want to dazzle other road users. I just like the colour it produces and as I spend a lot of the time driving at night I think it would be a good upgrade.

I've heard that they are illegal though, if you don't have correct projector lights/ auto level and washers etc.

Also does the use of these bring up the 'bulb out' error light?

I know these are not the most popular items round but if anyone could link me to a reliable store that would be great

Thanks

Charlie

Cars with hids will soon not pass mot tests

No you won't get a light on the dash as the fabia doesn't have canbus :) get them off carmodshop.com they are exceptional I have bought four kits in all from them for my own and father and cousins car etc no joke! Lol they always helpful live chat on their site for any advice and the changed ballasts for my dad for nothing as he needed the canbus ones to take the light off the dash. They really are brilliant usually next day or two delivery. And you do have the correct projectors lens? Just without the washers and levellers etc so no problems there, although may I suggest going for at least 5000k as they are ice White although I have 6000k which are slightly blue but I would call them more ice white lol so the 4300k may be very yellow? Bit if you do alot of night driving then perfect :)

With the correct bulb and correct alignment there won't be any issues with them passing

Not being funny but how can you tell if you have projecter headlights?

Fabia's only had projectors if xenons were fitted, so you'd have washers too

Can only be described as what looks like an eye lol

Projector headlights

So if you have projector headlights, one can assume you have xenons already making me wonder why you would want to fit a HID kit?

He has aftermarket headlights with drl's in
