steering wheel

Featured Replies

hi there

my steering wheel on the superb elegance has gone a bit strange, :smirk:

it seems that the black glossy finish has worn off a bit more now ive used it

i dont have any of that male grooming nonsense products on my hands so i was wondering why its started to happen? :giggle:

its glossy over 3/4 of the wheel but not at the correct driving position, thats actually a bit tacky

is there a product for this anywhere that you may have come across?

can it be saved?

Sadly mine is the same. Just wear and tear.

You have worn the top layer of leather away, nothing you can do to 'save' it as it's already gone.

the steering wasn't glosey to start with it had a matt finish the shiney effect is a build up of dirt I had the same issue (thought the top half of the steering was worn) and having checked up the vw forum a lot of people swear by a thing called a magic sponge by JML so as I couldn't get one I used a light abreasive sided sponge and hey presto if does seem to have done the business although it still needs a little finishing off I erred on the side of caution in case it was too rough. as soon as I get a Magic sponge whatever it is I will attempt a better finish. so check out the VW Audi forums on this one
