VRS TFSI Stage2+ with out exhaust?

Featured Replies

Will i get away with it. My precat has already been knocked out and i will at some point get a sports cat welded in and OEM cat removed. Reason i dont want to change sound of car to much and also dont want car to look visually different for certian reasons.

I will hopfully be getting a fuel pump by the end of this month along with new cam follower.

So will i be ok:

Autotech HPFP

K&n Typhoon Intake

Pre Cat removed

Did you notice any difference before/after the pre-cat removal?

If im honest not really much difference in terms of performance but seems to hold power a bit beter but this is probably down to the lower EGT's.

Just removing the precat would not be of much benefit as you have the main cat further down. You would need to ask your tuner if they would do it, I wouldn't as EGT's would most likely be too high and I have never heard of anyone else not fitting at least a 2.5" downpipe and sports cat at minimum.

This is true. However there was an AUDI running stage 2+ with out the exhaust i see thread on another forum. Now i know nothing about the mechanics of cars but surely if precat is removed i.e knocked out then surely that would create a space for exhaust gasses to go just in same principle in 3" downpipe? And i will be doing sports 200cell cat.

With the precat removed on the std downoipe I think you could runa stage 2+ remap as long as you have the fuel pump. The precat removal will ensure the egt is alot lower, but you will always run the risk of burning out the main cat if the mao isn't done properly so it depends on how good your mapping skills are.think the guy your talking up was warancox In his S3

Im running an oem downpipe but had the standard cat removed and rewelded. It only cost £60. No louder than stock with maybe 90% of the performance gains.

Sy, is this easily switchable for MOT's (similar to what Hurdy did on his ED30)?

For the love of God, don't mention 'friendly' MOTer's................ :o

I have a second hand standard down pipe so swap it over for track days.
