VRS stuck in get home mode!

Featured Replies

My 53 Fabia VRS has had a few problems over the past few weeks, first the EGR valve and Turbo waste gate were blocked, after cleaning them out, a tank of expensive redex and quality diesel the valves are running well again, so after reseting the codes, was looking good until the engine managment light wouldn't go out! after a bit of investigation found that the Engine managment fuse had popped. so repaced it and it blew as soon as the ignition was turned on, obviously this looks pretty serious! worst of all the cars in "Get home mode". think it is an earthed wire but not sure, any suggestions???????? (code readers are just telling me its an engine managment issue.)

Meter either side of the blown fuse with a DVM set to ohms. If one side reads 0 ohms or close it's a wiring short. If reading is between 5 ohms to 200 Ohms the ECU is faulty.

Reading 0 with a slight fluctuation, nowhere near 15 tho! any typical places to look for wireing wear and tear?

the red door light on the passengers door keeps flickering on and off and door is deff shut, no open door warning light either. good place to start??? no sure why it would cause an engine managment fault!? would it?

Could be tricky this one. Is the plenum chamber below the windscreen clear of debris? It has been known for water to damage the wiring loom.
