i have strip the car down to replace my headgasket and i got to fit new core plugs i got the old ones out but wot do i have to use to put them in if anything i was told to use locktight but not shore if this is right or do they sill them selfs

just make sure both surfaces are foreign object free and smear a bit gasket sealer round the core plugs...lie them flush with head and use a small block of wood and tap them in with a hammer..

cheers matey i will do it tomozz now as i have gasket sealer

When I fit core plugs in engine blocks at work I use bearing grade locktite and use a socket which sit's inside the core plug with space to move as the plug squeeze's inwards when fitted.

so wot would be better gasket sealer or bearing grade locktite and i guess u run it out the outside egde where it seats in the head
