Nice weekend fettling the Yeti

Featured Replies

Had a Yeti weekend; started of on Saturday with a visit to the local dealer for coolant as it was on the min mark from new, then visited Jock to see how he's getting on following his accident. Pleased to say he's looking well and we spent a pleasant hour or so talking all things cars. Returned home via Halfords for some Autoglym products.

Set to work yesterday evening starting with the interior and in particular applying some Autoglym leather cream to the seats. Then today the outside got the works with a wash, polish and then a coating of Extra Gloss Protection :) Side and rear glass were cleaned with rainx glass cleaner and the front cleaned with autoglym glass polish (find rainx make the wiper blades judder; hence not using on the front) Also used the rainx on the piano black A & C pillars. The platic trim was treated to some autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care care.

Hi Tim

Good to hear jock is well and on the road to getting back into his yeti , your ice cube is looking good after a bit of TLC B), mine had the full works two weeks ago but had to wash it yesterday after its off road trip down a dusty track and across a few fields, no mud though looked all over the farm for some but no luck :giggle: swnbo was pleased i dint find any.

I have found the autoglym glass polish makes the water fly off the side windows, no problem with rain water from the windscreen blocking the mirrors, I like the life shine on mine makes the bird ---- clean off a lot easier and no marks on the paintwork

regards

Kevin

I like that.

Hey there TP, VERY smart SM you have there.

Ivor needs a good clean after a trip to Dorset & back.

He's not had a wash for a few weeks now poor little thing emoticon-0106-crying.gif

It was good to see you Tim and I have to say you have me hooked too! That bottle of beer you brought along was excellent - I'll be having a few more of those! Thanks!

That sounds almost the same as my weekend right down to the products used! Though I didn't do the Extra Gloss as it was too sunny to do much polishing.

Mine, or rather SWMBO's, took from mid morning Friday to mid afternoon Saturday due to amount of mud, crud, straw and general detritus that seems to accumulate on the regular trips to the stables!

Looking very spick and span - best not to use it now :giggle:

Did you have the Lifeshine treatment ? It appears that you are following that after care regime - RainX excepted.

Looks Great TP, but it looks like you missed the windscreen. It has a lot of blotches all over it!....emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

I need to clean Elsie the Helipad, but it is too hot at the moment and I'm off to visit the Osteopath to get my back put back together...emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

Hi Bassa,

no Ice Cube was not lifeshine'd by Allams, decided against it after my previous two experiences of opting for it with the first Yeti from the York dealers and my wife's Fabia from Hull. Both initially looked great but on closer inspection they had scratches and swirls from over zealous buffing with a swirlomatic polisher :S

This put me off so decided to use the products in the kit and apply them myself. Always been a fan of Autoglym products anyway and they do appear to keep improving them. For example the current Vinyl & Rubber Care is a totally different liquid to the first bottle I bought years ago; easier to apply and less effected by moisture.

Hi TP

The only reason I went with the Lifeshine was because it was 'thrown' into the deal. Guess it is only as good as the person applying it and thankfully I have not experienced any scratches/swirls so I must have got a good one. Of course that can and does happen even without any special paint treatments, a poor valeter is all it takes. The normal dealer Lifeshine applied price is a bit of a rip off to say the least but you do get a nice bag of aftercare goodies. The only items not included was any leather care products which was a bit strange so I had to buy those separately. As with you, I'm also a fan of Autoglym products.

Regards

Bassa.

I think I'll give washing Elsie a miss today....it's p**sing down....
