Bumper Respray

Featured Replies

Hello,

anyone had a bumper replaced on anything recently? the car its for is a micra and the part itself from nissan is upto £150 (but might only be £90). i was quoted at one place £450 to supply, paint and fit this. i make that around 6 to 7 hours work (ignoring mark-up on the part (although they'll pay trade for it...)) at £50 p/h and that seems unreasonable.

any pointers on what this should cost?

cheers

If its a new bumper it will be easier to prep and paint as they won't have half as much rubbing down to do,

Never really paid for any paint work doing but i once changed a engine on my mates fiesta in return for him to prep and repaint my original really badly stone chipped front bumper

i figured a new one is a better bet. predicatably body places prefer to try and repair it. a nissan approved place wanted just £700 to repair it.

anyway, a mechanic friend is going to have a look and make sure all is well underneath (should have missed anything important) then a new replacement will probably be sorted.

cheers

i wouldn't have thought it would be much more than about £250 all in

For my BMW bumper, was blue metallic, was charged £140 for prep and paint......
