Air conditioning fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had my gas topped up at the weekend. There was ZERO left in the system but the guy said it wasn't leaking and took all the gas required. It's a V plate 1.9tdi slx btw.

Now he said that it just wasn't working and that the engine didn't labour when it was on or off meaning that the compressor wasn't coming on.

I ran VAG com on it when i got home and came up with:

00792 - A/C Pressure Switch (F129)

35-10 - - - Intermittent

01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)

35-00 - -

Would either of these cause the AC to stop working all together? The blowers work but it's just not cold!

Thanks in advance!

James

A fault with the first item would say to me that the system is not able to tell the compressor when to come on.

Not an AC expert though, but I'd get the wiring to/from A/C Pressure Switch checked, clear the code, try the system again and if it's still the same, check the switch itself.

On the 2nd, check the wiring and connections to the V71 motor. The flap could also be blocked. You can perform a measuring block test on the V71 from within VCDS, which might provide further clues.

Good luck!

The pressure switch will be the main reason why it is not working.

I was hoping for a reply like that. Worth trying to replace it then?

(do you know where it is?)
