Fabia cutting out, Help please

Featured Replies

Hi all hope someone can help. it started last week i was sat in traffic and my car cut out.

took it to the garage ot it plugged in came up with coolant sensor so chaged that and while in process noticed the thermostat was in peices so changed that also. but it still happens only if i have been sat in traffic and engine is hot tho if i do a straight drive anywhere wth no traffic it does not start to happen, but once it cuts out it does it all the way home. the other fault codes that came up were o2 sensor and powertrain data bus missing..... hopefully someone could help, cheers Andy

Having the throttle body cleaned, and a throttle body adaptation ran with diagnostics, may help with the cutting out.

I think I have seen the powertrain error code before. Can't remember what caused it. Think I cleared the code and it never came back. I believe there are two o2 sensors, and would first check the wiring visually as much as possible, check fuses, clear codes and see if it comes back. Also worth trying to clean the wiring connectors inside the plugs/sockets with contact cleaner before going to the expense of an O2 sensor, but TBH the VW connectors are quite well designed and I doubt they suffer from corrosion much.
