Stage 2 TSI

Featured Replies

Thanks Nobafett, good read. 16g/s increase is quite impressive.

Is there a OEM metal heat shield underneath the intake pipe at the back of the engine on the TSI? If not does the ITG kit come with one?

One would expect that changing the environment in which the MAF operates would change the way it reads. Concluding that the different reading means more air getting in or more power coming out might be a bit courageous though?

The maf housing, location etc is completely unchanged with ITG intake so no re calibration or long term fuel trim issues or adaptations will be required

The gains they are seeing are due to the increased size of filter area, higher efficiency filter material and reduced air flow restriction.

Using VCDS its widely regarded by veg, Ross tech and tuners that the mad divided by 0.81 equates to hp. Normally this is low as it doesnt take into account extra power from timing advances, but for this it doesn matter as its purely a gain we are looking at.

18/0.81=22.2hp which is about the maximum you could achieve and normally the sort of gains you would see on an intake fitted to a mapped car, which in this case is about right as stevep was running stage 2 revo at the time iirc.

Fwiw this is the same gain I had off my it intake over the stock on my tfsi Stage 2+
