no way is the fabia bigger than the golf mk4! Our nipper's seat fits in the back of the Mrs's golf without moving seats forward but I always have to move the furby seat to fit it. The boot is smaller too.. golf - push-chair, travel cot plus huge bag (for mrs & baby!), furby - above but no way push-chair fits..

Before deciding to purchase a Fabia I wanted to find out whether it would be big enough for my portly frame, so I compared it's internal dimensions with those of the Mk4 Golf that I currently drive. I was quite astonished!

These dimensions are straight out of the Mk4 Golf and Fabia sales brochures -

Front Legroom (Min/Max):

Golf Mk4: 880-1130mm

Fabia: 860-1100mm

Front Headroom:

Golf Mk4: 979mm

Fabia: 977mm

Rear Leg room (Min/Max):

Golf Mk4: 590-845mm

Fabia: 606-846mm

Rear Headroom:

Golf Mk4: 958mm

Fabia: 952mm

Hardly anything in it (reduced lateral dimensions obviously), though I believe the boot is just 4" shorter.
