bushes and suspension

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I was looking at what my car needs to get it back up to scratch.

Both front wishbones are buggered (i can see through the rubber bush) the car has been wallowing for some time too so would suspect the rear bushes too.

The suspension has seen better days, so was thinking of getting coilovers, would kw vary 1 be ok or would the extra adjustability of the v2 or v3 be a better option? I do like the fact i could adjust how hard the dampers are?

Also the cambelt is due and a service this is getting expensive!

I had a quote for all the work inc kw vary 1 and wouldn’t get much change out of £2000 :o

And lastly the front and back bumpers need spraying after some T###ER backed into the back of the car and split the bumper. My mother had a little bump in the car and scraped the front bumper. I suppose the alloys need a referb to.

To try and save a few pounds,

I have seen the how to guide on the rear arm and feel confident i could manage it. Couldn’t find a guide on the front wishbones. And pos be able to fit the suspension but again couldn’t find a guide on this.

Any help, advise would be appreciated.

Think theres a guide on robs site www.pinpmyskoda.co.uk

Also billy2981 and steviewonder do some good pics and guides in there older posts when it comes to suspension n stuff

The rear bushes are easy to do - It's just awkward getting the old ones out and pressing the new ones in.

Front wishbines are dead easy. 3 bolts hold the balljoint on, one bolt on each bush and it's off.

Front wishbones are dead easy, rear beam bushes are fairly simple, easier if you put Superpro bushes in as they are two piece. Bowders has done a guide on putting O.E bushes in, Rob has a guide on his pimpmyskoda site for the superpro one's

there you go both guides on one siteemoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanks all going to have a go myself.

Found the super pro bushes for the front. £53.31

Would changing the ball joints be a good idea euro car parts are £26.34 each.
