Hi all am thinking of selling my 2000cc elegance fsi will be looking for a 2nd hand skoda but what is the fastest non turbo one you can get i have been told i have the same engine as a vrs but without the turbo so does that make my one the fastest non turbo. Not looking for a vrs as had a mk1 and turbo went big cash that was.Petrol only

I dont think Skoda do a 2L TSI anymore, you'd be looking at a 1.8TSI I'd have thought?

the 1.8 will be the same BHP as you have, slightly better pull away and better MPG return.

But the 1.8 has a turbo which the OP does not want!!! I do not think Skoda do a non turbo petrol anymore.

They do the 1.6MPI

They do the 1.6MPI

Or a 3.2 Superb or a 3 cyl Fabia maybe?

I meant non turbo petrol Octavia!!!!!!! but I concede that there is the 1.6MPI but that is not going to have the same power as the 2litre FSI.

a non turbo will also have high emissions and be fairly slow in a big car. The 1.6mpi however is 10k new atm from Skoda (25% off)!!!

The Octavia vRS is a 2L TSi and the engine is also available in the superb

In response to the OP as far as i can see from the brochure i have the 1.6 is the biggest non-turbo petrol engine in the Octavia

I thought it'd been binned in anything but the VRS, hence my post.

To the OP is there a reason you dont want a turbo version?

I had my 2.0 TFSi heavily modified and the turbo was fine in that for the 67k miles/4 years i owned it for and as far as I'm aware the new owner hasn't had any problems either.

They brought out the Superb 2L TSi from March this year iirc. I nearly ordered one but the wife thought it was too big so got the vRS instead

As said, the 2.0FSI 150bhp replacement is the 1.8TSI 160bhp. Smaller capacity, better economy, lower emissions. But as we see increasingly, this sort of improvement is only possible with a little bit of help from forced induction :)

Go and try one, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And if you have a problem, you have a warranty to fall back on. And you could always buy an extended warranty, in part from the fuel savings :)
