hi i have had my car on the computer and it says that the boost solenoid has a fault could someone please tell me what this is and will it damage my car if not fixed right away as i am due to go on holiday this weekend and dont have time to fix it please help thank you

It's a solenoid which controls boost. Not sure how they work on the tdi, but on the 1.8t, they bleed off air that would otherwise open the wastegate and stop the turbo producing boost.

Does your car run OK?
