vRS EML Sporadic Turbo?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Recently had the EML on and had her taken to Chequered Flag Skoda for a diagnostic.

They came back to say it was a sporadic turbo and didn't give me any codes so i'm still none the wiser on what has happened or is happening. They resetted the light and it hasn't been on since.

I am getting very occasional strange losses in power. Couple of times on idle the revs dip below the limiter but come straight back up but the worrying one for me was driving on a dual carriageway doing 70-75 out of nowhere loss of power for couple of seconds, eased off the throttle then throttled back up and fine again. I have also noticed whilst accelerating from 70+ the car seems to 'judder' - nothing major it just feels like its holding back a bit.

Could this be related to the sporadic turbo or do I have another urchin under my bonnet? If this helps I had the new recalled coilpacks replaced FOC whilst I had her in for diagnostic, again probably not related but it maybe relevant

Thanks all

Good bet it's a sticking waste gate. I would get the EML back on, and contact a local VCDS owner to do a full scan.

Nice one, thanks.

Also this week, on starting the engine, turns and fires but won't keep running and sounds VERY rough on 'choke' for the first 30 secs or so. Could it be something nice and simple like fuel filter or spark plugs?
