4x4 rear brakes upgrade

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm what is involved in changing the rear discs etc on the 4x4 to the same as the VRS? I am guessing that the calipers are needed as the disks are thicker/vented vs skinny/solid but what about carrier and handbrake etc. anyone done this already and have a definitive list?

EDIT: And Pics :D

I've got vented 256mm rear discs on mine. Calipers and carriers came from an Audi TT quattro. Also fitted on some 4motion Golfs I believe.

+1; calipers, carriers and disks

handbrake line connects in same place

found on TT/R32/S3/GTI/vRS/GTTDI/etc

cheers guys. :D Out of curiosity what pads are you using? I drove a Bora tdi sport back in 2001 and the brakes on that were amazing, its the same system on the octavia I have just never felt it is as good, is that possibly down to the OEM Pagid discs and pads on a new vehicle?

Only got standard pads on mine at moment

The photo was of the ARB fitment, but you can see the vented disk and top of caliper
