A quick thank you

Featured Replies

Just a quick "thank you" to Gizmo68 for sending me comprehensive instructions and Aubrey for spending the time to alter some vcds settings.

The SM now has HUGE speedo! It's amazing how much difference it makes. Skoda please note - this is how the Yeti should be set up.

Again, thanks guys

This is how YOU think it should be. Some of us are happy with how Skoda have it currently set-up.

indeed! let's re phrase and say ' this is the option that Skoda should give the many who obviously find it so useful'

Can you take a picture and give the rest of us a clue as to what you are talking about? I'm intrigued.

Thanks for that. I would like that option in Maxidot, very useful.

It would be useful if accurate.

I suspect it will be as optimistic as the speedo reading.:wonder:

I much prefer that.

Looks like I'd got some reading to do...

You are welcome.

I agree that the option should also be there for all UK owners to choose if they want to display it on their car or not.

As far as I am aware the consensus is that Satnav speeds are about as accurate as you can get - unless you want to go down the route of timing a measured mile

I've checked the SM speed against my Tomtom satnav and both digital and dial read approx 2-3 mph on optimistic side when doing 60mph.

This corresponds to a whopping 10% error on previous car Subaru Forester

Option is available in the Maxidot ...........

......... in an Audi. :giggle:

Does this large speedo option work for us peasants who have a Multi- functional indicator but no Maxidot please??

And a Skoda !!

... but only if you modify with VCDS; not part of OE spec! (not that IMHO I want/need it)

You never said it had to be like that 'out of the box' though. :giggle:

Personally I find the adaptation more useful as I now have the external temperature showing whenever the KPH speed would of been shown.

I'm quite happy with the small 'kph'; actually use it quite a bit when setting cruise control 50, 80, 130, 140 (oops) and then the outside temp is directly above it all the time.

Personal preference; naturally. ;)

Maxidot is the MFD.

The poster has an 'E' which I don't believe has the maxidot. The 'E' has a different one, which if it is like the other more basic Skoda's are, then I can't read it (another reason for the Eleganceemoticon-0136-giggle.gif)emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

on the E at rest there is a total milage odometer which is fine but a soon as you drive away it changes to km per hour which is of no value to me whatsoever and causes confusion as I work out the conversion value.

On a free vote i would stick with the odometer. I will talk to the service manager at my dealers and see if he can change it. RTBH read the blooming handbook! but I cannot see where it is changed.

Thats the same as the fabia & Roomster courtesy cars I have had in the past. confused me as well. I need my reading glasses on to read that display.
