anyone tried the k-sport caliper kit?

Featured Replies

I'm sure that 'Tom' on Cupranet and IbizaOC has a set of these on his rapid mk4 Ibiza and rates them very highly (iirc he has the 8 pot version) - they do seem to be very good value.

I bet replacement discs will be very expensive. would be better if they could utilise 312/323mm/other VAG ones

Front Brake Kits.

Brake kits start from the 6 pot 286mm package through to the huge 8pot 400mm package

When the components of the kit are worn, such as the brake discs, AP parts can be fitted along with the brake pads from the following well-known brands: AP, FERODO, MINTEX, EBC and PAGID.

k-sport calipers.

anyone any experience of these? :notme:

Loads on Scoobynet. Worth paying for better pads if you buy. Some offer DS2500 instead... but for more dosh.

Also worth taking a long hard look at the costs of replacement rotors and pads! £50 isn'r going to do it anymore!

I asked for discount based on a group buy for these kits only a couple of days ago and for 5-10 kits ordered a 10% discount would be offered.

I've read many positive reviews on them and they seem excellent value for money.

700 is excellent value?

700 is excellent value?

kit is £775...but you get 2 new 6 pot calipers...2 new 2 piece discs ( 2 new decent discs are £150+) and brackets ( £90 on there own) 2 stainless braided hoses...so is good value..

ferodo ds2500's are £240 ish emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Sounds better when you say it like that lol

£775 is excellent value compared to the £525 knockoff brembo kits on eBay !

If you are referring to used id gbautomotive2010 I can confirm this guy is 100% legitimate, He works with EBC and has set up onw his own. You can een contact him directly for a cheaper price when bought out with ebay. I work with his Uncle.

Have fitted them on the R36 project and Ali has used them. Standard pads are crap and long order time, 12 weeks to get what we wanted from time of order.

ISTR delivery times are dependent on boat sailings etc. There never seems to be stock sitting on shelves in the UK. Because of that, it's probably best to find the cheapest group buy available from any of the performance car forums or vendors there-of.

Regarding pads... The K-sports use the AP 6 pot pad shape - CP5570 (I think). Pads made to this format tend to be EXPENSIVE! The 4 pot pads for CP5100-CP5200 range tend to be a lot cheaper. Particularly if you can get along with EBC's Ceramic blues which are <£100 a set.

Edit: The CP7040 6 pot pads are also "cheaper". Cheaper being a relative term... :-)

I think with the K-Sports, they're great up until you need new pads or rotors. Rotors will be £300, pads... £200 if you shop around.
