VRS Auto Wiper Question

Featured Replies

Hi All

Over the weekend used the Fabia wipers in the rain no issues, on normal wipe and intermittent settings.

On my way to work was flicking between the long to the short setting. Short being to the left and long to the right when they seem to gone backwards??

The long setting seems to have gone left and short setting to the right. Something not right?

Has anyone have any ideas?

Its and 07 se my vrs

You sure you're not just getting confused by the fact that whenever you move the stalk, it triggers a wipe regardless of whether one is due or not? i.e. if you make the interval shorter then it wipes straight away (sensible enough to realise you're shortening the interval because the rain has increased), but I'm sure mine also does it when you lengthen the interval (which is a bit counter-intuitive and could be confusing).

well i know when i moved it left the wiper length was shorter and when it went right it went longer.

But that changed on my way to work as the slider/roller was left and it was taking a long time to wipe.

something not make sense. i just wandering now the cars parked up all day whatever is playing up will reset?

Probably because it's early, but I'm a bit confused. On my car (and my Leon before it):

Switch to the left = long interval, takes a long time between wipes

Switch to the right = short interval, less time between wipes

So if that's what yours is doing now, then that's normal?

it was

left = Shorter

Right = Longer

The little icon on the stalk goes thin (left) to thick (right). to me this is short time between wipes left to long time between wipes (right)

now its all backward

hope this all makes sense :(

sorry if i am confusing the situation

The icon goes that way for "speed", i.e.

left = thin = slow = few wipes per second

right = thick = fast = many wipes per second

That's how it's been on all my VAG cars, so yours now sounds the right way around. I can't think of anything that would cause the order to suddenly swap over though.
