Sorry Skodahunter no offence intended!Colour is just a personal thing. I haven't actually seen the grey up close so I guess its hard to tell from what you see on websites and stuff. I still think the blue is the colour I will get and there aren't many, if any, round my way.

Haha none taken :) -the blue is a lovely colour, but very common IMO. Don't listen to me anyway-buy what YOU like!! You won't see many Anthracite VRS's over here-I believe there is a FL one around Cork, but the colour was only available on LE versions of the pre-FL and a small number of very late non-LE's such as mine. It is available now as one of the seven colours on the FL though.

Does the 140 suffer the same issues?

No, not with the injectors-they're not the same. The turbos are a weak point on the 140PD instead! Just ask Wardy....and one of my brothers...

The PD170 is not all bad-just affected by injector probs.(now being sorted by VW) and DPF issues (get it removed & he car remapped!)

Yep, got the heads up on the blower prior to viewing, it will be getting a map soon but I will keep an eye on it! If I start hearing the 'strangled owl' noises I will be forced to purchase a hybrid.........

Yep, don't worry Pagey - you went into that purchase with your eyes open emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I personally didn't go with the PD170 because of the injectors and the DPF. Also, because of the setup (mainly due to injector type and operation) the economy isn't all that brilliant.

On the PD140, whistling when coming on boost seems to be the tell-tale sign really. Problem is there's quite a few examples of that happening with people for '0000s of miles, with no ill effects :S Whereas on mine that was the only symptom I can think of. Then one day it seemingly decided that enough was enough! Even though the car had been operating fine for about 5k beforehand (since I bought it) and had been remapped for quite a bit of that time. Looking back, Ben thinks my RS Tuning RR figure was an indication that it was over-boosting slightly, as the PD140 on the OEM turbo doesn't usually result in a remapped 183bhp figure. Seems that the vanes could have been sticking open.... emoticon-0114-dull.gif
