Insurance for car purchased with solutions

Featured Replies

Hi all, i've bought a Fabia vRS through the solutions scheme and i am picking it up on Monday, but what i was wondering about was insuring it. I've contacted my insurer (admiral) to sort out insurance for it. They told me if it is written off they will only pay the market value back (pretty standard stuff) but how does this work when it comes to the finance side of things? Just wondering what other peeps on here have done.

Cheers

Ben

p.s. see all you North Wales vRS owners on the road soon

If you want to ensure you can settle the finance after a write off consider purchasing a GAP insurance product.

There are two available - finance gap pays any difference between the insurance payout and the finance settlement while return to invoice gap pays the difference between the insurance settlement and the invoice price of the vehicle fromwhich you pay any short fall to the finance company.

Finance gap is cheaper but not by much so I would go for rti gap

Gap insurance as this covers the difference between value of car and the invoice price and won't leave you out of pocket, I got quoted £116 with ALA

Have you tried a quote from skoda? i tried ALA and got quoted £92

Yeah skoda want £240, I put claim value at £15000, so not sure if that made the difference, but won't complain at £115 when skoda want 240 haha

You will be responsible for paying anything thats left owed to the finance company... Buy gap insurance :)

I went to ALA and used this code 'vri4434' and got 10% off so just a heads up.
