you do have the bluetooth & phone prep?

if you do just press and hold the button that controls the volume on the steeering wheel and it should make a chimming noise and say main menu then ask it to call a contact.

Yes i have the bluetooth and it idoes have telephone preparation GSM 11w but my steering wheel is just a normal one. I can get the phone to work using the end of the indicater stick but I am finding it very distracting, it would be so much better to be able to voice activate it, maybe this is not possible? I would appreciate any help with this, thanks
