Soundproofing underlay&VCDS

Featured Replies

Free (or for a drink, cough) to anyone, big roll of it enough to do a car or maybe two. Lots of you must be running new FLs and not soundproofed them.

Its getting in the way so needs to go, I am near Epsom, pm me if you want to collect it. Price is free, but a few tinnies would be appreciated. :giggle:

I also have latest VCDS, so if anyone in North Surrey/ SW London needs the use of it, PM me.

Interested to know, what you did to improve sound proofing and where you obtained the material from.

Some dynamat in the rear wheel well, boot floor and under the rear seat bench, then some decent carpet underlay over that works wonders.

Thanks for reply

Where can you get Dynamat and what sort of cost for doing what you did.

Dynamat or similar products can be purchased on-line or at most car audio places.

It was a while ago for me so prices will have changed.

Looking for something similar at the moment too. Remember getting some for the Fabia via eBay a few years ago, but can't remember what I bought now. It was about half the price of Dynamat and did the job very well.

What was it you bought m0bov?

Want to do the exact areas mentioned in post 5. How uncanny! Anyone would think that poster drove an Octavia2 ;)

can you please post a few photos up as it will be much better then trying to describe it, i am hoping to do the sound proofing in boot and under rear seat

I know what the stuff looks like and what it does, I just need a recommendation for a decent value choice emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Some dynamat just stops the panel from virbating and not absorb sound, thats why we should really look for sound absorbing material instead of trying to stop panel virbating

You could look at Dynaliner or Dynapad (or equivalent products) if you want to goto the next level...

I'll be fine with the first level.
