Dog bone mount

Featured Replies

After one attempt of taking my dog bone mount off, I've just about managed to round the bolt off for the small bush and it's still tight! :(

Soooo I'd like ideas on how to remove the bolt at the moment my idea's to use a chisel and whack it with a hammer till 1) it loosens or 2) I miss and hit my thumb and brake it again

Also can anyone help with a part number for the bolt please :)

You could take it into a local garage and ask them to crack it for you.

You mean the bolt that screws into the gearbox

Think its that one, it has a rubber bush.

Might try a garage but they cost cash. Might just try the chisel idea and risk my thumb! lol

Anyone know the part number for the bolt?

Mine came out of the gearbox very easily it was the subframe that caused me problems got one out then the other snapped but just the head the bolt only goes through the alloy and clamps it into the subframe....

all i did was get the blowlamp out warmed it up abit ,then got two chisels one as drift and one to wedge in to keep pressure on while i was walloping hell out of the drift it worked i could then just undo offending bolt with my fingers (corrosion of alloy around steel caused problem)

Bolt to gearbox it an M10 thread heads 16mm socket i think

Partnumber for the bolt that goes though the round bush is N 905 970 01.
