Happy new owner of Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

I have been an enthusiastic Smart Roadster driver for almost two years, but the lack of practicality has finally outweighed the fun of the car, and I decided to check out a more 'sensible' replacement. I tested the Alfa Romeo Mito but found the car to be a little dull to drive (although beautiful to look at). I then read up on the Fabia VRS on the Parkers car guide pages, and decided to test one. It was luvverly! So I bought one...in Corrida Red with a black roof and black alloys. It's amazing! Fast, fun and practical. Drive it normally, and the fuel economy is almost as good as the Roadie's. Drive it swiftly, and the performance is truly impressive. Handling will never match the Roadie, obviously, but it is still very, very good.

I filled up with Advanced/Supreme 97 ron petrol today. (That is a requirement for Roadies.) Is there any opinion on which fuel to use with the VRS? The filler cap says 95 ron, but I can't help wondering if 97 or higher is better for the engine.

Congratulations - get some photos up :)

Fuel - should run better on Super yes. It's just not a requirement.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi Jonwheely and welcome. Agree about the smart roadster I part own one with my dad and it's a hoot to drive but as a daily drive id find it impractical. It was the parkers guide that made my mind up and the fabia vrs is fantastic. As regards petrol I use sainsbury's super 97 Ron it's good stuff all the scooby/evo guys use it and it's only a couple of pence more than standard.
