Replacing Skoda Octavia Ambiente 01 Convenience Control UNit

Featured Replies

My windows and central locking have stopped working and my garage has done a sterling job in ruling out wiring faults. It all points to a faulty Convenience Control Unit.

A new one would cost £300, plus fitting, plus 're-coding' keys, possibly the purchase of new keys.

If a Control unit can be found from a scrapped car, could it be used to replace my unit? Would this work? What would be the issues? Would it work out cheaper? Can anyone explain what the re-coding involves?

Tim

The unit will need coding, it's only to say how many electric windows it has etc.

The keys will need re programming to the new control unit
