Stubby antenna fitment on pre-FL RS?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just wanted to get some experiences or opinions on this. I bought a sharan stubby antenna for the RS. Was told by the dealer that the standard one that comes with the car should simply unscrew. Problem is, yes it did unscrew and wouldn't detatch from the antenna base no matter how long I kept going at unscrewing or yanking at it at different angles. Not sure what others have but the antenna base on my RS have a rounded structure in front and the antenna once slightly unscrewed can be tilted down and pushed upright.

Has anyone else here had the same problems and is there a solution or would the nut retaining nut be loose or is there a trick to it?

hope you dont use your radio much! the stubby aerial has a terrible signal. anyway, the standard one will come of when unscrewed if you give it a good yank, and yes you do need to pull real hard, make sure you hold the base section in place while you do it!

I've got a sharan stubby - receiption is just fine for me.

Got one fitted on mine and reception is as good as the original. ive got the one that is now fitted to the new octys.
