Which BT Kit for FL 2011 VRS?

Featured Replies

Is the 3C8 035 730 A fully compatible with the FL and Columbus?

Without meaning to hijack your thread can I ask how easy it is to retro fit BT on the said car?

I fitted one to the last car and as long as you take your time removing trim etc then its a relativly easy DIY job. Not a lot of room behind the head unit but its doable. Biggest PITA is running the mic cable to the light unit and taking the sill trim off but it's not a hard job - 1 to 2hrs?

You do need it coded though so have a look see who has VCDS in your area am send the a PM.

How much were the parts? Do you know what Skoda charge to fit it?

My DIY skills would be severely tested!

Skoda will charge a bloody fortune - the kits are £800+ from the stealers or £250 ish on ebay but you have to be careful about which kit you buy, hence my initial question which nobody has answered!

Installation is easy with the ebay kits as the multiway plugs are "piggyback" and simply plugin to the rear of the Bolero / Columbis units. The PITA is running the cables along the sill (control unit sits under the drivers seat) and running the mic cable up to the interior light (the mic installs in the light unit).

I'd say 1 hour is you know what you are doing, 2 to 3hrs is you're a complete nitwit!

I've litterally done this last week.

I started at 5:30 and was finished before 8:30 and that included some time off to eat, and another interruption for rain.

I'd think Wardth is right.. I reckon when you've done one, the next would take 1hr (maybe 90min). but the first prob takes 2-2.5 hrs.

Alot of that it working out how firm to be with the trim whilst trying not to break it and rechecking that you've got all of the screws out of the piece of trim that still seems to be nailed on!!

As i mention in the other post, I put the unit under the passenger seat as it seemed easier (was taking the glovebox out to help get the bolero out, so then you can easily route the wiring.
