Hi Guys Help Needed

Just Been Browsing Through The Forums For Info About Alloys, Some Briskodians Say !9" Alloys No Probs, Some Say Go For 18". I'm In The Process Of Looking Around For Some New Alloy's For My Octy VRS But Not Sure Which Size To Go For Now. Should I Go For 19" or 18" Also What Offset and What Bolt Spacing Is It. What Size Tyre should i go for, Also If i Put 19" on Will I Have To Have The Arches Rolled or not. Not Sure I'm At A Standstill. Advise Would Be Gratefully Recevied.

19's will fit no problem mate. You need 5 x 100 bolt spacing, and the ET should be around the 35 mark, that should be fine.

Dont go for more than 8.5" wide though, even at the rear.

Other than that, you should be fine, go for it!

hi there,i run 19s on my octavia and have no problems with clearance even with a car full of passengers,my car is on standard ride height at the moment so i dont know what the clearance is like on a lowered car and i have 225/35 tyres,a lot of wheel and tyre packages come with 235/35 and im not sure if they are too wide,but a reputable company would advise you as to what the best fitment is

Generally the larger the wheel dia you run the lower the profile tyre so outside radius is about the same, lower profile tyres (bigger wheels) give less tyrewall flex so theoretically better cornering, the downside is they give less protection to the wheels & its easier to scrape the rims. Also less tyrewall = less tyreflex which gives a harder ride.

Before you choose also check out tyre prices as some sizes which are less popular are disproportionately more expensive.

Beware of package deals as they usually get the price down by using cheap tyres

Just to back up what Stuart_J has just said, the larger the wheel, the harder the ride... and it IS noticeable. On my last car, a passat, I was on 20's, and the tyres looked like rubber bands! (very thin), and every small bump on the road was felt. So do be careful!

Boon65, its really down to your personal taste at the end of the day, i wouldnt run 19's on my octavia because i think they look too big for the car, thats just my opinion though.

So anyway, I think 19's look great on the car but as everyone says, be careful about the tyre choice.
