Removing Swing Radio - MK2 Fabia vRS TSi **GUIDE**

Featured Replies

Tools/Parts needed :

Torx screwdriver (T20 5x100)

Car used :

2011 MK2 Skoda Fabia vRS 1.4TSi

Time needed :

About 5 minutes, shouldn't be any longer

Difficulty :

2/5 - Not difficult just a little fiddly

This is what we are starting with :

To remove the surround just get your nails under it from the left hand side of the radio and lift. It should come off easily, there will be a few clips.

Next up you'll be able to see the 4 torx screws you need to remove :

You need to use a T20 torx screwdriver :

Once these are out you should see this :

You should now be able to wriggle the stereo from side to side while pulling out :

The main ISO block is on a swing hinge and comes off easy enough, the below comes off by just pushing up the plastic clip :

Now they have been removed you should have this :

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is that, you can now fit any radio you want!

**A Quick Note**

If you put the Swing radio back in you will be greeted with this :

It will then go to a code screen, do not worry, as soon as you turn the ignition on the car should recognise the unit and you won't have to put the code in :)

Will the Columbus sat nav plug directly into the original connectors

Not too sure to be honest, I don't have one to try :(

Just curious. Does the touchscreen radio from the Octavia Vrs fit straight in the hole and work? I use to have a MK3 VW Scirocco and I miss the light that came off the radio unit. And if it does fit with no hassle would the MDI and parking censer display work? Thanks

Yes it will  but may need coding - and the trim will fit
