Keyrings/sevice plan/bonnet sound proofing

Featured Replies

Sad I know but after collecting my new car on Friday it only came with a cheap plastic key ring! Does anyone know of a Skoda dealer around Basingstoke that uses leather ones?

I was offered the widely advertised two year fixed servicing for £299 does anyone know the saving this makes over paying for it yearly?

Finally! I have the VRS TSI there is no soundproofing under the bonnet should there be? All my previous cars have, just want to check its ok!

Many thanks!

They did have bonnet soundproofing, mine has , but with penny pincnching only the diesels have it now, you can retrofit though

More penny pinching! My only thought as to why it wouldnt have it was due to the fact the petrol engines get very hot and would it cause it to overheat?! Probably not but its all I can think of apart from money saving!

Where would I source one to retro fit!

dealer for 20 quid. ebay for key fobs. dont forget decent matts and sound proof for boot.

possibly removed from newer models to cut down on heat?

I was suprised to feel how hot my 1.2 TSI engine was, when checking engine oil after about 30 mins of the car being parked and engine off.

I think that any insulation would just make the heat build up even more, but I agree that its kinda strange the bonnet doesn't have any.

I have the under bonnet insulation pad fitted to my TSI

Must say that it has made the engine noise both inside and outside noticeably quieter.

Also when closing the bonnet a much more acceptable sound rather than an old tin can being slammed down.

Just my thoughts - only wish I done it sooner.

Small bucks - big improvement.
