Hello all.

Just on my way to my brothers for a BBQ and my car has completely died on the way there. No warning just a slight "judder" then the engine cut out. No warning lights on the dash. When I tried to start it again I had a warning about oil pressure but its not appeared again. Engine sounds as if it wants to turn over but wont.

Any ideas what it possibly could be?

I`m asking for help because we are suppost to be going away and at the moment its parked on a grass verge....

Hi, Sounds like a battery/power failure I would try to get jump start from somebody initally.

thanks for the reply. Battery seems fine - still got the use of the lights, stereo ect...

Do you have fuel?! Sounds like the derv pump packed up. Check the fuel pump fuse, can you hear it buzz when the ign is on? Have you check your oil level?

Right - oil level was just ABOVE min mark so topped it up and it started first time. I only toped up about 3 weeks ago.....

Any evidence of an oil leak, either on the driveway/road below where you normally park it or any smoke out the exhaust?

Nothing at all - no smoke, no oil on the drive or were I park for work, no oil under the car :no:
